How to configure “aiStarter”to make AI2 run on Win32 ?

Of course I read
http://appinventor.mit.edu/explore/ai2/windows.html

and on a Win64 computer everything works fine,
- the original AI2 online IDE
- the offline editons (
App Inventor 2 Ultimate,
AppyBuilder / aiLive / AiLiveComplete )
The effect on Win32 computers:
Win8.1Pro, 2GB RAM -> I may load the IDE, but I can´t load projects, just a bunch of error messages
Win7Pro, 3GB RAM -> I may load the IDE and load projects, but I execution of the shipped Android emulator fails
So there must be a memory problem... ?!

So as the "ai2starter" is a Java application, it can be configured ( especially how much memory is reserved ).
So is there anybody running successfully "ai2starter" & AI2 in a Firefox browser, on a Win32 computer, and knows the trick to make it run ?!

As I said, none of the problems happens on Win64 computers, e.g. win8.1pro 64bit with 32 GB RAM.

As AI2 is so old, the project started in 2009 or even earlier, and as there is a 32-bit edition of "ai2starter", somehow it must work.

But not by default :-(.

Of course Win7 and Win8.1 consume more memory than WinXP...

Maybe because of lack of memory, with Win32 you should use a real Android smartphone instead of a simulator.....

Its just that my very hand and power-saving little notebook, I like to carry with me, is still just 32-bit...

Sincerely
Rolf

The Companion and Emulator section of this FAQ has links to alternative emulators ...
like Genymotion and an in-browser emulator.

P.S.  I run AI2 and the emulator on an old 32 bit XP desktop in addition to my Win 8.1 64 bit laptop.

Try a lightweight browser like Maxthon instead of Firefox?
Browser Extensions (NoScript, etc) can cause problems.

So as the "ai2starter" is a Java application

I don't believe so.  The Java console never appears in my tray,
and I have removed it from my XP box.

Java is only needed to build a local AI2 environment for offline use.
Is that what you are trying to do?

I hit the 32 bit ceiling on that a while ago, hence the 64 bit laptop.
