appinventor software fails to install

Please SEARCH in this forum before posting your question.   There's a good chance your question has already been asked.

App Inventor 2
MAC 10.7.4
tried Chrome Version 32.0.1700.107
and Safari 5.1.6 (7534.56.5)

I did do the Java 7 update.
Downloaded 2.2
Quit out of browsers
Restarted the computer
got the attached screen shot when I tried to open the set up software
So I still run the installer and get INSTALLATION FAILED
Says contact the software maker.
Can't beyond this.

This looks like a problem with your Mac. Most software installers are shipped as virtual disk images. MacOS mounts these images and then you see the program inside the disk and execute it (the disk mounter opens the contents in a window). It appears that your Mac cannot mount disk images.

You should try rebooting your Mac and if this doesn't help, you should contact Apple (or a local Mac expert) for help.
