Have downloaded MIT A12 from Google successfully onto my Samsung T800 (TAB s 10.1), but unable to find 6 character code
Have looked at the illustration to see where it should be but it never appears in that position.  PC is running a1 starter  Any ideas whet to do next?

Prior to doing all this have successfully installed all samsung drivers.
Have only i wireless network in my home so there is no conflict of network choice choice.  In any case both PC and Tablet will access my wireless network with no problem.

1) You must install Companion on your Android.   You get Companion from Google Play.
2) The character code appears on the AI2 browser window after you select  Connect > AI Companion    , when you see the code, the you will have to start the Companion app on your device and enter that code into the Companion app on your device ... wait and your project should load.

Did this help?

Regards,
Steve

 Check. Did that.

"  You get Companion from Google Play."
Check. Did that.

"2) The character code appears on the AI2 browser window"

. What is a browser window?
When I 'touch' "MIT AI2 Companion" in my applications
I get an image on my display indicating thus:
MIT App Inventor 2 Companion <title>
MIT App Inventor 2
type in the 6-character code
 -or-
scan the QR code
[ Six Character Code ]  <-- text box >
connect with code
scan QR code
Your IP Address is: 192.168.0.17
Version: 2.23ai2zx1

" after you select  Connect > AI Companion  "

So, where is this alleged 'Six Character Code' ?

Chuck,

You need to read and follow the instructions:

When you Connect > AI Companion using the AI2 browser, the following window appears:

Circled in redt is the code that needs to be typed into Companion on your device.  Six characters without a carriage return, then press the ORANGE button and wait.  The code constantly changes.

Steve

You need a Mac or a PC which is running a web browser pointing to http://ai2.appinventor.mit.edu/
You also need to start a project there.
That's where you see the code.
