I am using "Pixel Toolbox" to prepare an icon for my app.  I have made a partially transparent icon that looks good on my windows 7 desktop.  But, AI2 gives me the error seen in the attachment.
How can I make a partially transparent icon for my app?

Thank You

App Inventor only accepts png, jpg and other standard graphics formats.  Your icon should be a png file... set the background to transparent when you create the graphic.

You cannot use an .ico file...

To add to what Enis recommended:    A 48x48 pixel image will work well.    Make your icon,  Use Paint or another image creation tool. Save it as a png or jpg   Place the icon (not a *.ico file) in resources on the Designer screen . (see Media, Upload File button).     Once the icon is loaded, go to the Screen1 Properties on the Design screen and  click on the Icon text box.   When the form opens, select   *.png  (your icon)   and press OK.  You can also load the icon directly from the Icon text box on the right of the Designer screen.  When you compile the apk, the png file will be associated with your app.

Did that work OK for you.   Please let us know.  If that does not work, you might post a png/jpg image of your icon here.  Your present icon might not be a png or jpg or it might be too large in size (Mb) or the image might be significantly larger than 48 x 48 pixels.

Regards,
Steve

Does Pixel Toolbox allow you to export to png?
That should solve the problem as Enis and SteveJG said.

Pixel Tool Box will only let me make the background transparent if I am creating a "Windows Icon" and they only allow "Windows Icons" to be stored as ico file.
I've tried to use IrfanView to set the background transparent. But, I had no luck doing that.

I am now using Gimp and the icon is correct.
Thanks for the help.
