Emulator will not Update

to MIT App Inventor Forum

I am trying to set up App Inventor on Windows 10 to use with the Emulator. It installs, however when I try to connect to the Emulator from AI2 I receive a message " Companion Version Check... " please see attached photo, Companion Version Check.png

I click OK to run the version check, however it will not update and I receive a Parse error. please see attached photo Parse Error.png.

And that is as far as I get. Any suggestions?
