FYI, you can also find a description but less of a How-To in my tips at http://twodogapps.com/?page_id=686#Emulator.

In AiStarter it says:

ADB Server didn't ACK
Failed to start daemon

ADB isn't starting properly.

What OS are you running on?  What have you changed in your computer's setup since you installed and had the Geny emulators running, and the time when they stopped?

Seems like you have communications issues on your system.

I'm NOT a network or communications specialist.  You have to ask yourself what's changed.  It was working, now it doesn't work.  What I have I changed?  What have I installed?  Is my anti-virus software blocking something?  Have I made changes to the firewall?

Bo wrote me directly (please keep the discussion here in the forum so others learn too!):

Hi Enis

I upgraded Android Studio and proberly Android SDK

I now changed the Path to the SDK in Genymotion to Genymotions own in spite of the usually sugested
And now USB connection works
Thanks

Yes, Genymotion depends upon the ADB to be correct and located properly.  If you have an old version of the ADB, they won't work.  There's a setting to tell Geny where the ADB is.  Upon install, it installs the adb that was included int he setup set.  If you have a newer ADB on your system, point it there...

Thanks Enis.

Sorry for direct reply - I replied my GMAil and thought it would end here.. :-)

Im a litle confused : ADB and SDK is two different things.

I pointed to the default SDK, and I copied the Genymotion ADB.exe into AppInventor-commands folder.

Maybe I have to update the SDK..

Bo... The adb is the connection bridge between the computer and the emulator.

Genymotion distributes the ADB with their emulator setup package.  The SDK also has it as does the AI setup tools.  Gotta have it!

It's the versions of these that matter.  The new AI setup tools install the newest adb (available at the time the setup tools were created).  Geny installs the most current one they have.  The SDK always installs the most current version.

In the Geny options, you can point the program to the location of the adb.  You can use the one they provide, or point to the one in the SDK... those are your most reliable choices as they're both updated more than the AI setup tools...
