Hi, nice to meet you all. I am new to this,  and English is not my native language, but I'll give it a try.

I've been looking for an easy way to make android apps. App Inventor seemed easy enough to me, so I started to build an app. However, fanatic gamers I know told me that it is impossible to make a professional game with App Inventor. Well... I am a bit stubborn. As a result I finished and published 3 versions of a slide puzzle that look professional enough to me.

To be quite honest, I did some programming long time ago. Basic and Assembler on the Commodore 64. Yes, I am that old. And I have some experience with graphic design and music production. Nevertheless, I am a newbie if it comes to video gaming (I don't even use a mobile phone, only for testing purposes).

But my two beta testers have a lot of experience and they helped me. See for yourself if my apps are good enough to enjoy if you're used to play video games. The audience I target is women and children, but it can be fun for men as well.

I made the apps with App Inventor 2. Nothing else was used, except of course software for the graphic design. I think I am allowed to put up a screen shot. It's one of the puzzles of the Cat/Kitten Slide Puzzles. The other ones or Dog/Puppy Puzzles and Horse/Foal/Pony Puzzles.

great! fantastic! and very professional!

you now showed them, that this is possible!
keep up the good work!

But why did you remove the About text "invented with MIT App Inventor "? You showed everybody, that it's possible to make a professional game with App Inventor, so why not telling this to everybody and give credit to MIT App Inventor, too?

You're absolutely right. I removed that message in the beginning and forgot about it. There will be an update in a few weeks and I will add a remark about App Inventor.

Thank you, and Christophe, for your very kind words

Thank you, Rich. There's going to be an update though. A lady with bad eyes who likes to play this game thinks there's not enough difference between the puzzle pieces and the pieces in the background. My Q/A beta tester doesn't agree, but it's a small effort to adjust the lay out, so why not?

Nice work.  I only tried the Dog Puzzles app, but it worked well, and looked really good!  I teach kids how to make a number puzzle app like this, and it's awesome to have a high-quality example of what they could create, using the basic example code that I give them.
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Play-for-nothing,
Very impressive indeed!

I was just wondering about the technique you are using to move the blocks. Do you have sprites for each block and lists to keep their positions etc. etc.? I was slightly disappointed that the puzze does not scale on my tablet. I am making a tic-tac-toe puzzle at the moment and it scales, but it requires a lot of calculations. Btw: I am older than you.
Cheers, Ghica.
