Connect app inventor 2 to sql server

Hey whats up, 

I have a web application built and a mobile application built. I built the web app using mvc and the mobile app using app inventor 2. I am also using sql server and have my web app connection to the database and now want app inventor to connect to the database but i have no idea how to do this.

Are you using PHP? If so, in your PHP check to see if any result found, if not, then return appropriate message / flag for your app. A flag could be a responsecode and your app could check for the responsecode and then display proper message in the notifier
