How do I separate the score and the miss from Mole Mash 2

I just finished the tutorial of Mole Mash 2 with Sprite Layering for App Inventor . I'm creating now a variation of the game wherein if you missed 3 moles the game would be over. But everytime I touch the
Mole the canvash is touched too. They would have the same scores. Can anybody help me on this.

yes, if you touch the mole, the canvas will be touched, too becasue the canvas is the background

let's assume, you have two counters, a counter which counts how many times the canvas was touched in the canvas.touched event and a counter how many times the mole was touched in the mole.touched event
then to get the number of misses, just calculate counterCanvas - counterMole
