ASCII to HEX in BLE

Hi,

As mentioned in this link https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mitappinventortest/404FUnScIyY/UoDm3yWpCwAJ I am able to convert ascii values till 127 using the hexify procedure. However there are signed number in applications whose hex representations are beyond the 127 (7F) range provided by hexify. Is there any other way to send bigger numbers (0x80 to 0xFF) to BLE as a byte ?
