Image sprite rotation leaves does not fill enclosing rectangle on Android 5.1.1

If you rotate an image sprite, the enclosing rectangle appears in black, as demonstrated in the attached aia.

This problem appears in system 5.1.1 (and perhaps earlier).  But it does NOT appear in system 2.2.2.
