Please SEARCH in this forum before posting your question.   There's a good chance your question has already been asked.

If you are asking for technical help, you must provide the following information:
- Are you using MIT App Inventor Classic, MIT App Inventor 2, or something else (what?)
- What OS are you using? (e.g, MacOS 1.8, Windows 8, ...)
- What browser are you using (e.g, Chrome version 30, Firefox 24, IE 8, ...)
Also provide as much information as you can, such as screenshots and instructions that will let others duplicate the issue.

Hi...

Click on the Project link towards the top of the user interface, and then Import project (.aia) from my computer. You'll get a dialog box that lets you look for your AIA file.  Choose it, and click on OK.  That's it!  Your project should load!

Please note that you cannot import an AI Classic zip file into AI2, nor can you use an AI2 aia file with AI Classic.

To SAVE a project to an aia file:
  1. Click on the My Projects link at the top of the UI.
  2. When the list of projects shows up, put a checkmark by the project you want to export.
  3. Then click on the Project link (notice that they're similarly named but not the same)
  4. Choose Export selected project (.aia) to my computer...
That's it.  The file will be saved where all of your other downloads are saved, and it will have the format YourProjectName.aia!

I think you're a bit confused by versions.

Are you trying to upload an AI Classic zip file into AI2?

Only an AI2 aia file can be imported into AppInventor 2.  If you have a project you did with AI Classic, you'll have to redo it in AI2 to use AI2.  If this is the case, you can still use the AI Classic for the next few months, after which it'll be retired.

There is NO zip folder downloaded for AI2, only for AI Classic.  AI2 uses aia files, not zip files.

What version of file are you trying to import?
