Microbit Uart extension problem

Hello everybody,

I've made an app tha sends data tot the micro:bit using the UART-extension (http://iot.appinventor.mit.edu/#/microbit/microbituart).

This works fine when I use a simple, fixed text-block, like this:

But when I join 2 strings I get an error. So this won't work:

This is the error I get:

Is there a reason why a joined string does not work? How can I send  joined strings?
