API key fees?

I was getting my API key through the pizza party tutorial when I noticed the possibility of charges. I wasn't able to leave a message for Google because I haven't created a project yet, and I'm a bronze level developer (no phone or ticket support). Does anyone know the deal on Google's charges for using the fusion table? Is there a time frame? Thanks.
