Have someone here tried to connect the app inventor with a Raspberry Pi? I have a project and I am trying to figure out the best was to send signals from my raspberry pi (similar to Arduino) to App inventor. I know that I have many options (NFC, wifi, USB or bluetooth) but I don't know which one is better.

Thanks!

If you're on the same network, you could put NodeJS on the Raspberry Pi and connect to that. That would probably be the simpler option.

First of all, Felipe are you brazilian?
secondly, how can I write the logic for the Node JS with app inventor?

Yes, I am. Você também?
I don't think you can run any app inventor code on the Raspberry Pi yet. Or are you running Android on it, instead of Debian?

From what I understood, you have an AppInventor project on an Android device and you wanted to communicate with the Pi.
If that's the case, you're going to have to program the Pi with something else, like JavaScript if you use NodeJS.

If your Rasberry PI has a bluetooth connection App Inventor can send it strings.  Can you "program" it?     If RP can accept a bluetooth  hex or ascii string, possibly you can provide rudimentary commands to the Rasberry..

Here are previous discussions on the Forum regarding Rasberry PI.. perhaps there is useful information there  https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/mitappinventortest/Rasberry$20pi%7Csort:date  ?

Steve

sim, eu também! sou intercambista nos EUA.

I have to work in a project that the goal is to send signals from the raspberry or arduino and this information will make changes in my App inventor project!
My App is a robot face and I have to make it change in accordance with some robot movements!

The face is going to be an Android phone or tablet? Sounds neat, post some pictures when it's done!
You can use either WiFi (phone polls the Pi for status updates) or Bluetooth, depending on whether you have a network or a bluetooth dongle for the Pi.
