Why can I not text anyone ? Why is it not possible to call anyone??

You appear to be using the emulator to develop and test your apps Maria . To text or make calls, you need a real Android device and pay for using a supplier's phone services. Test your app on a cell phone and you should be able to text and make calls if you coded your app properly.
