HI posting this because its driving me crazy, Im doing a pool game : 8 ball for my class. Teacher never taught us collisions or anything. But i am stuck because my 8 ball only stays on x axis( horizontally ) for some reason and i cant get it to enter the Y axis( vertical ). below is the assignment. If any help is appreciated. Thanks (What i started working on is attached)



Pool Game: 8 Ball
Instructions:
8-Ball
is a popular pool game. You are to create this game with the following requirements
1.Develop your screen so that it looks like abilliardtable.A screen shot is provided of what it should look like.
2.The color of the pocketscan be any color except black.
3.To create the“pocket,”place circular objectsso that they appear semi-circular where they are
placed.
4.Add2 balls, the cue ball (white), and another ball that display the number 8 on it.
5.The goal is to pocket the 8-ball into one of the pockets by swiping the cue-ball according to a few rules:
a. When the 8 ball and the cue ball collides, and the cue ball goes in, the game is 
    over  and the game is lost
b.If the cue ball goes in before the 8 ball at any time, the game is over and the game is lost
c.If the 8 ball goes in before the cue ball, the game is over and is won
d.When the game is over,a message displaying game is lost or won should be displayed

It has an extensive doc on ball collision angles.
