I incidentally installed the higher version of AppInventor (ver 3.0) for my Mac OS Mavericks. It doesn't work. I followed the instructions here (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/mitappinventortest/uninstall%7Csort:date/mitappinventortest/WdgN28AUg5I/MYxF9oT8AwAJ) to uninstall ver 3.0, empty trash bin, Cold reboot / shutdown restart, then want to install the downgrade version 2.3.

However, I always receive the following message as shown in the attached image: "App Inventor Setup version 2.3 can't be installed on this disk. A newer version of this software already exists on this disk."

But everything has been deleted and trash bin emptied. Have tried multiple times but stuck.

May Evan or any expert help advise on how to handle this / completely uninstall appInventor ver 3.0 or downgrade to 2.3? Thanks in advance.

Regards.

You will also need to run the following command from Terminal.app to forget the newer package:

sudo pkgutil --forget edu.mit.pkg.AppInventorSetupInstaller

When you run the command, it will ask for your password since the command requires administrator permissions. Once it has forgotten the newer package, you will be able to install version 2.3.

Evan
