Android emulator not working on Ubuntu

Hello,

I'm on Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS 64 Bits system with MIT App Inventor 2 running in Firefox. I Install the package appinventor2-setup_2.3_all.deb with the default Ubuntu package installer.

When in MIT App Inventor I try Connect > Emulator... The message Unable to retreieve version of... prompt.

The package is properly installed in correct directory:

I use Xubuntu, but use Genymotion for my emulator (an alternative solution, I know it doesn't solve your problem)

The problem was solved by installing Google Android studio with Ubuntu installator.

This install android APK and all dependencies.  

Now the Web AppInventor > Connect > Emulator start the emulator window when /usr/google/appinventor/commands-for-Appinventor/aiStarter is manually started before.

I can confirm to myself .... and to the world, that Android emulator is working un Ubuntu 18.04. Be cool it is slow but working !
