Good morning , first thing SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH !
I'm Italian and  my mobile
operator is  TIM
My cellular Phone is Thl W200C  with Android 4.4.2 KK

The question is , i builded a easy app where i try to use GPS signal and I need to read the position dates .
All application work correctly , I can open google map , i can start google navigaror and i can read the GPS dates :
Latitude
Longitude
Height
But the ( CurrentAddress ) don't change never from " No adress available "

( Designer and Bloks in attached )

I used my app outside for more time , i had recived different position from GPS ( Lat , Long , Height ) but never Current Address

Does anyone know why or how I can fix it?

Many Thanks for your attention

Ivo

if you get lat and long, but no address, then there might be no address available at your location, are you in the country side somewhere? try it in a city...

Is the GPS enabled on the phone?
Did you veriy that you recieved a LocationChanged event? It seems that you never recieved it, therefore there is no fix from the GPS, but the phone may kow its location from WiFi.
Restarting the phone may sometimes help if you installed a new Android release not long ago.
Cheers, Ghica.

Thanks Ghica for your comment .
The GPS are Enabled because all other information are correct and the LocationChanged event update Lat/Long !
I tried my app. on different Smartphone with Android 4.2.1 and i have the same result .

Did you try other app inventor apps, for example this one? http://explore.appinventor.mit.edu/ai2/android-wheres-my-car (and try outside on the street!)
If that works, something must be wrong with your app, otherwise something is not right on your phone.
In the first case, could you post an .aia?
Cheers, Ghica.

Ghica thanks ,
But is not clear what is e real problem , I installed (android-wheres-my-car ) and you can see ( attached files ) , the address are not present .
On PlayStore i found a different application  ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.location.test&hl=it ) and in this case the address are visible ! .

I dont think is my phone a problem may be the method of extration .
You can download my code ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwOpqd7vczipek5wVHItdTIxZjQ/view?usp=sharing ) .

Now I try to extract the same information of Json file .
( See the Atteached image )
Is not easy select a specific data inside Json file .

Bye

The unknown soldier instead of the unknown location :-)
I will look at it tomorrow if I can find a suitable PC, because the motherboard of my laptop broke today.
But I would rather like that you post the .aia directly, instead of in a google doc.
Cheers, Ghica

Ivo,
I tried your app, and now I do not know what to advise, because here (in the Netherlands) it works perfectly! (It would take me 11 hours to drive to the Duomo and my home address is shown accurately).
That said, there were problems with GPS in the past and with App Inventor too.

For example, the European decimal comma would prevent Google maps from understanding where you are but App Inventor is fixed in the meantime, so unless you are using your very old local version, that should not be a problem.

Another thing is that I have a later version of Android (6.0.1), and there were problems with earlier ones, see for example this:

Maybe you could also ask a friend with a newer phone to try?
Cheers, Ghica.

Do not forget to read what was in the link I gave you, it has this text:

Android KitKat GPS problems

GPS issues are another regular update bug and not just for KitKat. To fix this issue, go into Settings > Location and ensure that Location Access is turned on and switched to High Accuracy.

Toggling through different settings can occasionally fix the problem, but if it doesn't you might want to download an app from the Play Store to diagnose your Android KitKat GPS problem. Give GPS Status & Toolbox (linked below) a shot. It's definitely worth a try if you feel like your GPS isn't up to par.

And, the app they are referring to is here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2&referrer=utm_source%3DAndroidPIT%26utm_medium%3DAndroidPIT%26utm_campaign%3DAndroidPIT

Cheers, Ghica.
