How to work together on a single app

Hello, 

teams of students need to build an application for my "Computational class". They work in teams of about 4 students. The problem they stumble upon is the fact that it apparently isn't possible to work simultaneously on an app. Is it possible to create different screens/ subgames and put them together in a new app? This way my students are more effective in their time?
