Subject: The University of British Columbia - Joint PhD offer

Dear Sir/Mada,

The University of British Columbia, Canada, our partner university, has shared the details on full-time Ph.D. and Joint Ph.D. offers. It is an excellent opportunity for our PG students, Faculty looking to pursue Ph.D., and existing Ph.D. scholars to convert into a joint Ph.D. program. Also, our faculty can explore joint research collaborations. Please go through the details below. If you have any queries, you can write to our office.

Visiting International Research Student (VIRS) program

UBC is a hub for outstanding researchers from around the world and welcomes Visiting International Research Students (VIRS) to participate in our community of inquiry.  The VIRS program provides admission to UBC for international students to conduct research full-time at UBC. While at UBC, the student is under the supervision of a UBC faculty member. Since 2014, UBC has welcomed over 2500 VIRS students from over 650 universities and 85 different countries.

It is the responsibility of an individual applicant to identify, contact, and obtain approval from a UBC faculty member who will be their VIRS supervisor. To assist in this process, students can review this database of UBC professors and their research interests who are open to supervising VIRS students.

Please refer to the VIRS webpage for all information on eligibility, fees, application process, and answers to frequently asked questions.  If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact the VIRS advisor at go.g...@ubc.ca.

Joint Doctoral Research Scholar (JDRS) Designation

For VIRS students who are registered in a PhD program at a recognized institution, they may be eligible for the Joint Doctoral Research Scholar designation.  More information on this pathway is available here and also here.

Vancouver Summer Program

The UBC Vancouver Summer Program (VSP) is an opportunity for international undergraduate students to study at the University of British Columbia during the summer, in one of two four-week sessions. By offering globally relevant courses and sociocultural activities specific to Vancouver and its surroundings, the VSP encourages students to engage in cross-disciplinary learning and nurture their understanding of Canadian culture and values.  If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact the Vancouver Summer Program team directly at vsp...@ubc.ca
