At IBC2013 we demonstrated MistServer running on a Raspberry Pi. This was to demonstrate the unique low resource usage of our software.

We received many requests for the image that we used, so we’ve decided to make it available running the very latest 1.2 version of our software for all to try out.

Download links are here. The image and demo were both prepared by our employee Oswald de Bruin, whom wrote a full post about this, which you can find here.

If you’re interested in running MistServer on other devices like this, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Dear All,

I would like to play with MistServer on RPI. After creating user account in MistController I'm getting the following info:
[CONF] Created account kajenek through commandline option
Could not create socket 0.0.0.0:4242! Error: Address already in use

And I still can't login into MistServer Manager.

What I'm doing wrong?

greetings piotr sek

Dear Piotr,

Thank you for trying our Raspberry Pi image. The error you get means the mist controller is already running, which is as intended, because the Pi image is pre-configured. It starts the Mist Controller automatically and already has a default configuration.

I recommend you take a fresh copy of the Pi image and edit the default values through the local settings page. Log in on your Pi-mist server through a internet browser on (pi ip adress):4242 with username pi and password raspberry.

I hope this helps.

Yours sincerely,
Oswald de Bruin
