Asalamualaykum wa Rahmatullah,

Thank you for attending the MIST Texas 2010 Regional tournament this past weekend, and Congratulations to all the winners!

Though we only recognized the top 3 winners at the Awards Ceremony, the top 5 from each competition will move on to the Nationals tournament this summer. Those results will be posted on the MIST Texas website (www.getmistified.com/houston) within the next 2 weeks inshaAllah.

THANKS
I'd like to thank all of those Coaches who took time out of their weekend to come out to MIST, to stay all three days, and to keep everything with their schools in order. Really, without the presence and dedication of our Coaches, MIST would not be able to function!

I also want to thank my board of organizers for the hundreds of hours that they put into this tournament. For over five months now, the MIST board has been attending meetings in which we assessed and scrutinized the past years of MIST in order to pinpoint any issue that we could improve on. Though there is always room for improvement, I know that each of them really put their heart and soul into it all, and I congratulate them for a job well done.

The most disheartening things to see at the Awards Ceremony or throughout any of the tournament is disrespect for any student, coach, or organizer. Everyone puts so much time into making MIST run smoothly, and no one deserves disrespect. MIST is a system, and every part of that system is vital to its existence. If one part is shunned, looked down upon, or disrespected, the entire system will fail. InshaAllah in the future I hope to see MIST teeming with RESPECT from each individual.

Every year we try to improve, and the best way is through constructive criticism from those who attended. If you think that you misplaced or left anything at the tournament this past weekend, please email mist....@gmail.com with a detailed description of the item. We've got two boxes full of miscellaneous items including many Projects! Please email us within the next 2 weeks if you want to retrieve your lost items.
