"We need to fight for that representation to be accurately and respectfully represented in the media as the people we are," said James.
Joaquin Kriegel and Santana Valentine pulled inspiration from their hometown of Deming for their award-winning film "Holy Cross."
The film was recognized as the best High School Thriller for the paranormal.
Holy Cross is the name of a tuberculosis sanitarium in Deming. The spooky lore of the allegedly-haunted space is a mythos everyone in town is familiar with. So the teens reimagined the old story into a parable about respecting the dead.
"We really wanted to make it unique to our town, to our folklore," said Kriegel.
"I've been making movies for quite a while now," Kriegel added "I started when I was 10 or 11 years old, and it's a cool way for me to be able to express myself."
Considering how many MCU, Star Wars, and other Spin-Off content we're getting I'm surprised we haven't had 4 or 5 RDJ Holmes movies by now. They are entertaining, intelligent, and very re-watchable. I watched them again recently and they don't feel old at all. What a fantastic blend of action, dialogue, drama, and comedy. The visual effects are also quite good!
In the movies, Harry still has his scar, but his hair is no longer curly, instead it is shiny and straight. He is more athletically built than he is skinny. His personality also changes and is almost always focused on being angsty without any of his other qualities.
Ron is still red haired and tall, but his nose is wide instead of being long and his freckles are nowhere to be seen in the movies. He is also still deathly afraid of spiders. Luckily there is a spell that repels them that he is quite fond of.
The books are better. They offer better descriptions and the original storyline which movies always differ from in some way. They always bring more enjoyment and take longer to get through making it a true journey.

When Avengers rolled around in 2012, Hulk, Thor and Captain America all had their own profitable movies, though Iron Man's first solo film was still the best-received critically of the bunch. Downey and Stark were two of the movie's anchors, and his $10 million salary reflected that. This $10 million became his base salary for the next several films. The Avengers proved an astonishing success, earning $1.5 billion worldwide and leaving other studios scrambling to try and duplicate the success Marvel Studios was seeing. Due to the immense success of the film, back-end deals ended up bringing Downey's Avengers salary to $50 million.
Considering just how much money Downey's movies ended up racking, he was probably worth that initial $500,000 deposit, having gone on to earn more himself than Iron Man did over its entire domestic run at the box office.

From 1980 to 1985, Lucas was busy with the construction of Skywalker Ranch, built to accommodate the creative, technical, and administrative needs of Lucasfilm. He also revolutionized movie theaters with the THX System which was created to maintain the highest quality standards in motion picture viewing. And he went on to make several more movies that have created major breakthroughs in film making.
Disney is arguably the most iconic entertainment brand in the world. The company's properties, both original and acquired, combine to produce content that transcends age demographics. Disney has built a brand that's beloved by children, and those children eventually age into adults who introduce their kids to the films they loved when they were young. Disney's animation alone has made it iconic, but in recent years, the company has also acquired some of the biggest pieces of intellectual property there are. And, with Disney Plus available on any device, you can watch all these movies whenever you want.
Between its acquisitions of both Marvel and Star Wars, there's a good chance that whatever you love is being shepherded to screens both large and small by Disney. When they launched Disney+, the company was sure to fill it with both those nostalgic animated classics and plenty of new stuff as well. It's meant to be a streaming service for all ages, which is why the selection of movies available there is so diverse. These Disney Plus movies will make you laugh and cry and leave you eager for a rewatch. Here's a look at the best movies on Disney Plus.
Parents need to know that this movie, which features a male character who becomes pregnant, is probably not for younger kids who are still asking, "Where do babies come from?" Some kids might also be disturbed by the fact that chimpanzees, which are used in fertility experiments in the film, are shown in cages in a laboratory. However, the movie does not depict any animal abuse, unless one counts the fact that the chimps had to co-star in a mediocre film. Watching Danny DeVito administer a sonogram to the bulging belly of Arnold Schwarzenegger should probably be hilarious, but it may leave some viewers screaming for the Demerol. Hearing Schwarzenegger say the equivalent of "I'm keeping my baby" is good for a mild chuckle, sure, and it's somewhat touching to see his character thaw. Still, the comedy is more likely to induce cringes than belly laughs, which is too bad, given what director Ivan Reitman has done with movies like Stripes and Ghostbusters. And let's face it -- it's kind of creepy to see Schwarzenegger's muscled torso expand into an inflated pregnant belly.
Ahead is a ranking of the 12 best movies in history that feature Robert Downey Jr. as a leading or supporting actor. The ranking is based on the average between their Rotten Tomatoes critics' score and their score listed on IMDb.
Although Downey Jr's role here is more limited than his other Marvel Studios appearances, he becomes an important part of Peter Parker's origins by serving as a mentor to the MCU's youngest hero at the time. Praised for differentiating itself from past Spider-Man movies while not being dependent on MCU worldbuilding, Homecoming got a big return from Downey Jr's inclusion as he and Spidey joined forces.
Richard III earned overwhelmingly positive reviews for its visuals and storytelling, with many praising the film for its non-stop drama and action. McKellen got special recognition from critics too for his haunting portrayal of the titular character as he embodied yet another terrifying villain the way he has so often in previous movies.
To close off Phase 1 of the MCU, Robert Downey Jr. led the way as Iron Man in The Avengers, bringing the six core heroes from the first five Marvel Studios movies together in their initial team-up outing. Joining the previously mentioned Evans, Ruffalo, and Johansson along with Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Earth's Mightiest Heroes assembled in 2012 to stop the God of Mischief, Tom Hiddleston's Loki, from conquering Earth.
Making $585 million in box office revenue (the eighth-highest total of the year), Downey Jr. put forth a performance as Tony Stark that resonated deeply with fans and critics while putting a formerly B-list hero from Marvel Comics on top of the world. Iron Man became the first stepping stone for the MCU's good fortune as the first of over 40 movies and TV shows that now make up the most successful movie franchise in cinema history.
Robert Downey Jr. has had one of the most amazing careers of any actor working in Hollywood today. Once a heartthrob in teen movies, Downey Jr. completely revitalized his career when he was cast as Tony Stark in Jon Favreau's 2008 comic book movie "Iron Man." The role nearly wasn't his, as it had previously been offered to Tom Cruise. After 10 movie appearances as the character, Downey Jr.'s personality has become synonymous with Tony Stark's. He has the same quick-witted, snarky sense of humor that makes Tony so entertaining. While sometimes actors can "phone it in" after playing a character for so long, he seemed to only get better, adding new layers to Tony as the "Infinity Saga" reached its conclusion, and his heartfelt performance in 2019's "Avengers: Endgame" was surprisingly moving.
Although Robert Downey Jr. deserves credit for effectively launching the MCU, director Jon Favreau was just as important in creating the franchise. Favreau has a great filmography that is much more than just Marvel movies. After making a series of Hollywood action films, Favreau decided to go back to his roots with the 2014 independent comedy "Chef." Favreau wrote, directed, and starred in this film about a deeply unhappy Los Angeles chef named Carl Casper who serves some of the most respected clients in the area, yet finds that he is limited by the strict menu that the restaurant's owner Riva (Dustin Hoffman) demands. After having a nervous breakdown, Carl decides to purchase a food truck to travel across the country with his son, Percy (Emjay Anthony).
