The Morocco vs Tanzania Côte d'Ivoire 2023, also known as the 2023 AFCON, takes place from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
Senegal are the Africa Cup of Nations holders having beaten Egypt on penalties in Cameroon's capital Yaounde two years ago with Man of the Competition Sadio Mane converting the winning spot-kick.
Côte d'Ivoire previously staged Africa's showpiece men's football tournament in 1984 when Cameroon claimed its first of five titles.
The hosts are bidding for a third triumph after their victories in 1992 and 2015, both times in penalty shoot-outs in the final against Ghana.
The 24 teams have been split into six groups of four with the top two in each - plus the four best third-placed sides - going through to the Round of 16.
The groups at the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 are:
Group A: Côte d'Ivoire; Nigeria; Equatorial Guinea; Guinea-Bissau
Group B: Egypt; Ghana; Cape Verde; Mozambique
Group C: Senegal; Cameroon; Guinea, Gambia
Group D: Algeria; Burkina Faso; Mauritania; Angola
Group E: Tunisia; Mali; South Africa; Namibia
Group F: Morocco. DR Congo, Zambia; Tanzania
The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations is taking place in the Ivory Coast as 24 teams have dreams of being crowned champions of Africa.
It is going to be a beauty of a competition and after great showings at the 2022 World Cup for Morocco and Senegal, plus Cameroon, Tunisia and Ghana also coming close to getting out of their groups in that competition, African teams have huge momentum.
This tournament, which was moved from the summer of 2023 due to the tropical rains which peak in the Ivory Coast in June to July, will be a lot of fun to watch as new stars will be born.
While superstars Victor Osimhen, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Mohammed Kudus, Achraf Hakimi and Andre Onana are in action with players from top European teams on show and this is set to be the best tournament in AFCON history.
Morocco, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Senegal and Nigeria are the favorites as plenty of heavyweights will collide in the group stage with Ivory Coast and Nigeria both in Group A, Egypt and Ghana together in Group B and Senegal and Cameroon in Group C.

But there have already been two surprises, as Mohamed Salah needed to convert a penalty deep in stoppage time to secure an Egypt draw with FIFA’s 111th-ranked Mozambique ahead of games with Ghana and Cape Verde. And Equatorial Guinea held Nigeria to a 1-1 draw in the first game of their tournament.
