Hi all!  Aaron and I recently returned from a great vacation near Winter Park...and I thought I'd pass on the info re the B&B where we stayed with the kids.    HIGH MOUNTAIN LODGE...   www.highmountainlodge.com   Tom, Julie and their son run the place...just took it over in June or so...  very family friendly, with an indoor pool and hot tub, game room; many room configurations with king, queen, double and single beds, mini fridge and microwaves included...  linens are fine, lodge is clean and well run...  breakfasts are yummy, happy hour and all drinks are included year round, and in the winter months your room rate includes a light dinner for all guests.  Translated: No waiting for a table in town which could easily be a parent's nightmare, agreed?   One of the best parts for me (in addition to the above)...the lodge is located in a valley just beyond the Fraser Tubing Hill and the Fraser Rodeo, which means absolutely no train noise to be heard!  Finally a quiet place to rest and relax with your family that is a 15 min drive (or less) from the base of WP!    I loved so much about this place, I just had to zap you an email to get the word out...   So, if you're looking for an easy going AND AFFORDABLE stay near WP, this just might be your ticket!   Hooray for ski season!  Thinking of you...and Happy New Year!  Andra   PS - Mark, the Beckwith's son, is a tot ski instructor at Winter Park.  Added bonus!
