Dear missioneurs,

Last night's Mission Mob was a tremendous success. And it was just the beginning.

The real goal is to build a community of mission entrepreneurs who can depend on each other. We want you to get to know each other so that you can help each other. That's why we've created this Google Group. Think of it as the glue that holds us together between events.

We want you to make this Google Group your own. Ask questions, share news, help each other, and publicize events relevant to other missioneurs. Even send along funny things that will put a smile on all of our faces.

To send a message to this community, just address your email to missi...@googlegroups.com. You can also reply to any email from the group, and it will automatically be sent to everyone.

If you'd rather not receive these emails, just email me (Blake) and I'll remove your name. My email is blake at blakejennelle dot com.

Let's make the most of this community!

Take care,

Blake Jennelle

Thanks to everyone for attending yesterday – what a night!

I wanted to let you know of two events happening at Wharton this week that seem well suited to our bunch:

Wharton Social Impact:  http://www.whartonsocialimpact.org/Conference/

Doing Well by Doing Good:  http://www.wharton.upenn.edu/deansofficeevents/magicjohnson/index.cfm

I absolutely echo all of the words about the energy from the evening as the gathering was exciting and I hope generated impressive momentum.  I also believe there was an extremely valuable uncovering of some of areas of difference, which are great opportunities for this community to bridge.

I recently came across an article about Indian companies Doing Well By Doing Good in the Harvard Business Review.  You can find it at http://blogs.hbr.org/cs/2010/03/indian_companies_doing_well_bec.html?cm_mmc=npv-_-TOPICEMAIL-_-MAR_2010-_-STRATEGY&referral=00210

What is interesting is that it was written by a Wharton professor right here in Philadelphia….could be a great resource.  Related to that I would encourage anyone who is able to attend the Wharton lecture series around social enterprises that Anita posted to attend.

Also, after I posted the HBR link on Twitter and Facebook, a friend of mine immediately responded with a couple books that speak to the mission-based business world - http://www.amazon.com/Christine-Arena/e/B001IQZSMA/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1 – and the author, Christina Arena at http://christinearena.com/about/

Cheers-

paul
