Hey everyone - I know a lot of you are experienced with fundraising and I'd love your feedback. Yesterday I launched an experiment in online fundraising called a fundraising dare. My business partner and I are the first guinea pigs, and our dares are going strong.

Could you take a look and send me your feedback and ideas? In particular I'm interested in what kinds of people and causes you think this is best suited for.

Here's my fundraising dare:

Blake I have been following your Dare on Twitter and I think it is a fantastic idea and going to bring it to my Theater Company for our next fundraiser.  I think it will work great with a organization that has a outgoing leader. The fun part is not the "dare" but that the dares are happening to you. I went to a fundraiser for the Police Mini-Station on South Street where we got to dunk the Lt. and was very successful because he is such a great guy.

Reminds me of ed norton’s website…you seen it?

http://www.crowdrise.com/

I love it…microfundraising/philanthropy is really popular right now…(ie: crowdrise, givology)….

Givology somehow gets away with no overhead however, which is nice….they also get donors from all over the world…

Great idea for the Theater Company, I bet they would have a blast with it. That's a good point too about it making a difference who is being dunked and their relationship to the overall community.

Yeah CrowdRise definitely has a fun, lighthearted attitude about fundraising. With MyDunkTank, we're thinking a lot about what other game formats (like dares) lend themselves well to raising money. Because raising money needs some spice as we see it. :)
