Hi Missional Arts Community,
As some of you heard at our last missional community gathering, Missional Arts is moving into a season of change in the next few months.
Starting this summer, Missional Arts is evolving into an Arts Network. Specifically this means that existing Missional Arts groups will continue while we move away from meeting for corporate monthly gatherings. These groups will be more or less autonomous from Missional Arts leadership but will be networked together within the broader TGC community. The aim is to connect these diverse groups into a network that will gather a few times throughout the year for industry-focused prayer, worship, and possibly some type of performance.
Currently, there are already a few groups that exist within this network: Artist Bible Study, Actors Support Group, Bardʼs of TGC, Alegria, and a soon-to-be Filmmakers group.. The hope is that a few more groups will develop in the future as well as several specific initiatives such as a Career Mentoring Program, Scholarship Fund for the Arts, additional Collaborative Projects, Curation Projects, Artist Salons, and Mercy Projects.
After months of prayer, we believe that by transitioning into an Arts Network we will be able to better pursue the mission to “see the kingdom of God spread and renew in the arts & entertainment industry".
In the months of April and May, we will meet for the final two missional community gatherings. We are excited that Chidi (April 28th) and Gabe Lyons (May 26th) will be coming to share with our community. After that, there will be a break for the summer and then the Arts Network will officially launch in the Fall.
If you are interested in joining any of the existing groups, starting your own group or have questions about the Arts Network, please reach out to me at nat...@trinitygracechurch.com.
