Hello TGC Family,
My name is Brandy Caldwell (UWS Children's Coordinator, Chelsea Attendee, & Actor Support Group Facilitator) and I write to you today as I feel led to do so.
It is very possible that if you are an actor, writer, or director you have the Spiritual Gift of Creative Communication; the ability to use the arts to communicate God's truth; to develop and use your artistic skills to cause people to consider Christ's message.
As an actor I have a yearning to participate in Redemptive Storytelling, and rarely find these kind of projects to become involved with in the city. Now am I talking about some awkward church drama? No. I do, however long to see the hope that we have in Christ shared through Story with all of His mystery and wonder. I am left with the question...but how? And then I am presented with the truth...He will do it...Christ that is:)
I know of a couple specific needs in which we as a community can respond. One is within our Children's Ministry. I believe storytelling to be a profound way in which we can use our gifts to participate in shaping this next generation of the church.
There are also outreach opportunities for each of our Parishes that are waiting to begin, because of the need for Artists like you.
And thirdly, we have the ability to come together, combine our efforts, while seeking Christ to produce plays that will bring glory to Him.
If you are in any way intrigued or prompted to act on these possibilities please join me for a discussion time on
Friday evening May 27th at 7:30pm. Location TBD. Please RSVP to brandy....@gmail.com (Please note this is not merely a discussion time for actors, but equally as needed for writers and directors.)
Also, if you are already participating or leading a group of artists who are using your gifts in this way please join us as we may partner with you.
We will take an inventory of how God is leading us individually and begin a Spirit Led action plan.
Blessings,
Brandy
