All,
FYI, I just spoke with a representative from the City of Miami Office of Sustainable Initiatives (OSI). They are undertaking a project they are calling the “Miami Green Lab.” They will be using EECBG funds (from their $4.7M allocation) as well as grant monies from Home Depot ($749k) to invest $3M into a closed firehouse. Among some other similarities with MVC, they are working with a team of local partners for implementation. They will be seeking LEED Silver Certification for their building. She was calling to learn some best practices from others around the country; I’ve passed on some information to her from our learning process and asked her to keep us apprised of their program and lessons learned.
Pecan Street Project, SustainIndy, Frick Environmental Center, Green Energy Ohio, UTB/TSC Go Green Assistance Center, James L. Knight Green Jobs Training Center, Miami Green Lab, Mission Verde Center…we’re getting somewhere!
Regards,
Philip
