We are taking a little vacation to the ruins and need recommendations on hotels.  There will be 8 of us so frugality is appreciated.

We have stayed at El Jarral. They have cabins; I don't remember the cost.

El Jarral is pricey now. It is about $70.00 a night now. Hotel Acropolis 504-2651-4118 is REALLY nice and clean and is about $50.00 a night (Ask for a discount and they will probably give you one). Hotel Belssy is VERY clean and simple and breakfast is cheap (2 person room $16.00; 3 person $21.00) This time of year, you don't need to pay for air conditioning there as it is cool in the evenings. Hotel Acropolis and Belssy are both on the main road leading into Copan Ruinas. El Jarral is about 15- 290 minutes away from the ruins themselves and another 5 more to the village of Copan ruinas. We just spent 6 weeks in language school there....
