My close friend, Bob Frawley, passed away yesterday afternoon while running the Hyland Trails (I don't know the cause). Most of you probably don't know Bob, but if you watch the Missing Link Leaderboard, you always see his name at the top of the list. Bob had the most distance last week and is at the top of the list again this week. He watches the club from afar, but does most of his running solo. Bob has been an ultra runner for 3+ decades. He was super happy to hit a milestone at the recent Fans run - it was his 200th marathon/ultra. I've been besties with Bob and his wife, Maggie, since grade school. Now he's gone - so sad!

JD, I'm so sorry to hear this. Bob was a huge inspiration and such an amazing person to talk to and hear his stories. To hit 200 marathon+ races is just incredible, and for him to do it at the race he started is awesome. My best memory of Bob is working the aid station at icebox 480 when the sole completely detached from his shoes and him trying to keep going after using a roll of duct tape to try to put them back on.

John,
Gosh, I’m sad to hear this news about your friend Bob.
Bob’s life sounds like it was very full and running was his passion.
I will keep you and Gwen in my thoughts as you navigate this time without your friend.
Peace to you
