trail races this summer/fall

Someone asked about half marathon trail races this summer/fall. Sorry I don’t remember who; my memory of conversations on long runs tend to blur together 😊

My go-to resource for trail running events is ultrasignup.com (you can search for events by location, time of year, distance, and difficulty). Here’s what they are showing for upcoming events in the marathon and under range:

Some local groups—Loppet, Endurance United, Rock Steady Running (for shorter distances)—choose to market their events separately. So here are a few more to add to the list:

·       Surly Trail Loppet ½ Marathon and Half-Half (6-8 miles) Sun – Sept 18 at Theodore Wirth Park https://www.loppet.org/events/trailloppet/

·       Endurance United usually coordinates a couple trail races in late summer/fall – Bluff Tuff and Night Light run—but I’m not sure if these are happening this year because their main racing venue, Battle Creek Park in St. Paul, is closed for installation of snow making equipment (yay!). May be worth checking their website later this summer for updates: http://www.urbantrailseries.org/

·       Endless Summer Trail Running Series – There are two races left in the series, a 7 mile at Lebanon Hills on July 6, and a 5 mile at Spring Lake on August 4. https://www.estrs.com/

Surph the Murph 25k, marathon, and 50K, October 22 in Savage, MN https://www.surfthemurph.org/
