So I just got my Apple Watch a couple days ago. I really like that the Infograph watch face has 8 complications on it, but I just really would love it if it had a digital instead of analog clock on it. I've looked at the other faces and I don't think there are any others with this many complications on the face that also have a digital clock. Am I missing something or can someone point me to another one?

The Apple Watch is amazing for people who want to completely customize their watch screens, and infograph complications is one of the best ways to do this. You can change your Apple Watch faces to enable easy access for all kinds of apps and programs, such as the temperature in your current location.

You can create and edit the Infograph watch face from the Apple Watch itself or through the iPhone Apple Watch app. Ideally, setup is best performed on the app, while making a change to an existing face is easier from the watch.

Not all complications are created equal. As such, you may notice that not every complication is available in each location on the Infograph face. Additionally, other complications, while available, might not be formatted in a way that matches the look of the other complications.

Look for software updates; the set of watch faces that follows might differ from what you see on your Apple Watch. Not all watch faces available in all regions or on all models. To see the latest set of watch faces, make sure your software is up to date.

Tap the outer edge surrounding the main 12-hour dial on this watch face, and it transforms into a chronograph. Record time on scales of 60, 30, 6, or 3 seconds. Or select the tachymeter timescale to measure speed based on time travel over a fixed distance.

This watch face gradually changes to highlight the current hour. The numerals are a custom font designed to fit into the edge of the display and move seamlessly from one hour to the next. Tap the watch face, then turn the Digital Crown to expand numbers other than the current hour.

To start timing, tap the main 12-hour dial to align the marker on the outer edge with the minute hand, turn the Digital Crown to set the length of time, then tap Start. To return the face to its default state, tap the red elapsed time button, then tap Stop.

To set a second time zone, tap the watch face, then turn the Digital Crown to choose a time zone. Tap to confirm your choice and return to the watch face. The red hand shows you the hour in the second time zone.

This classic, type-driven watch face features custom-designed numbers that dynamically change in style and weight when you tap the watch face, then turn the Digital Crown. The numerals rotate to become pills when your wrist is down.

To hear Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse tell you the time, open the Settings app on your Apple Watch, tap Clock, then turn on Speak Time. Raise your wrist, then place two fingers on the watch face to hear the time.

Create a Photos face on your Apple Watch: With the current watch face showing, touch and hold the display, swipe all the way to the right, tap the New button (+), then tap Photos. Or, while browsing in the Photos app on your Apple Watch, tap , scroll to the bottom of the screen, then tap Create Face.

Create a Photos face on your iPhone: Open the Photos app on your iPhone, tap a photo, tap , swipe up, then tap Create Watch Face. Choose to create a Portraits watch face, Photos watch face, or a Kaleidoscope watch face.

The Portraits watch face uses photos from the photo library on your iPhone. Layer effects are applied to photos of people, dogs, cats, and landscapes. You can choose from three different type styles and select up to 24 photos. A new photo appears each time you raise your wrist or tap the display.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I understand you're not seeing the expected watch face options after updating the WatchOS. I definitely want to make sure you're able to customize your Apple Watch to your preferences. I'm happy to look into this with you and get you on the path to resolution.

The new analog Infograph face on Apple Watch Series 4 can scream information overload by default, and many of the existing analog faces feel improperly adjusted for the new display. Customizing and scaling back the visual elements on Infograph can create a much better experience.

The humidity omission is actually a bit more curious. Apple presents this data on the iPhone Weather app, but not on the Apple Watch Weather app; the only way to check without a third party app is using Siri. Air quality and UV index are new to watchOS 5 and make for pretty gauge complications, but neither are major variables where I live.

As someone who comes from a long history of wearing watches with personality, I ardently want the Apple Watch to have the same or similar ability to display personality as the traditional watches I still enjoy. I want this not so much for selfish reasons, but because I think it will encourage even more people to wear smartwatches. Apple and its colleague competitors are strictly pushing the utility and functionality of smartwatches as the main reason to buy one.

Going back to the discussion on data, the internet has tons of it. Theoretically, you can access much of the information you could on your phone, on your watch via the browser. But do you want to? With the Apple Watch Series 4, Apple has finally started to again advance the type of complications that users might be interested in looking at. This is data curation and I think it is one of the values that come with getting a professionally designed smartwatch dial. That means not only selecting the type of data to present to the user, but also doing so in a way that feels satisfying and useful. Apple has of course been doing this since the original Apple Watch, but with the Infograph I see them take an accelerated evolutionary step in the right direction.

As mechanical watch innovation more or less stopped 50 years ago, so did the development of new complications in traditional watches. Smartwatches have either tried to replicate traditional watches or have been stumped by the number of potential types of data they can theoretically display to users.

Despite how it may first seem, the sudden grayscale look is not a bug, but an intentional watch face change that Apple describes as "new monochrome complications in Infograph and Infograph Modular" in the watchOS 6 release notes.

The way Apple has implemented the feature is a bit confusing initially, because the monochrome style appears by default if you've selected one of the various accent colors for your watch face. The chosen accent remains, but the complications display in monochrome.

You can do the same thing in the Watch app on iPhone. Select the My Watch tab and tap the offending watch face under My Faces, then select Black, White, or Multicolor from the color options.

3 line text is only available on previous modular watch face. There are limits to how you can present data on each complications and there is no specific template that can present 3 line of text on Infograph Modular watch face.

I know it isn't perfect as every line would be a different color, but CLKComplicationTemplateGraphicRectangularStandardBody does offer 3 lines of text on Infograph Modular? Maybe as an option? I use that watch face exclusively and would love to be able to see 3 tasks at a glance.

I have the complication as well. It was installed on my watch face when I updated. Right after the update it was blank but I was able to add it back without issue. Most of my notifications aren't getting sent to the watch but at least i have the message complication to be able to see when i've missed a few messages.

I am having the same problem. The complication is available on the Watch directly but missing from the IOS Watch app. Works correctly after the initial pair but seems to stop after the first watch restart.

Apple Watch owners that make use of one of the popular Infograph watch faces on their Watch may have been surprised to find that the watch face has gone monochromatic after updating their favorite wearable to watchOS 6.

IMO the G6 app is at best marginal on the watch but I am getting numbers somewhat more reliably on my Series 7 Watch than I was on the 6-year old Series 2 Watch. I also use the calendar app on my watch to display my Dexcom numbers using SugarMate. It is not perfect either but usually one of them gives me a number. Right now both are them are working!

I love my Apple Watch Series 4 but one of the things that bugged me: it was hard to settle on a configuration of watch faces. I mainly use infograph watch face because of information density. I do use others too, much simpler with lot less information but I use them only when going out for dinner or at a party. Now, looking forward for the next WWDC developers conference for the Watch Face App Store with watchOS 6.0.
