This rare blood condition happens when the bone marrow cannot produce enough new RBCs. It is most often a result of an autoimmune disease that damages stem cells. This occurs despite having normal iron levels.
Normal Community High School was established in 1905. Our continued mission is to establish a community of learners, pursuing excellence every day. As a community, we Ironmen work together and support each other. Iron sharpens iron.
Most people with iron-deficiency anemia will fully recover. But if the underlying condition is not corrected, and chronic iron deficiency persists until the red cell count and hemoglobin levels get extremely low, it can be fatal. (15)
The crematoriums offer the ashes (asti), generally a day or two after the cremation. Transfer the ashes to a container that dissolves in water and is friendly for the environment. The container should be carefully carried and safely stored at a location outside of the home (such as a garage). According to Hindu tradition, the container should not be taken inside a home, including the puja room. The container also should not be taken to any temple.
Flow, the Ice Urn is a breathtaking floating urn composed entirely of ice, one of the most visually stunning natural substances. Floating gracefully through the water, this urn gradually frees the ashes of your loved one as it returns the ashes to nature in the most environmentally-friendly manner.
She is a Malayalam poet for some, for others she is an environmentalist playing a dual role. Sheplays an active role in Kerala society as a humanitarian and environmentalist. Even though she has received many awards and called as the winning author, she takes the responsibility in spreading awareness about the importance of protecting the environment even to a common man. .
Each globulin chain contains an important iron-containing porphyrin compound termed heme. Embedded within the heme compound is an iron atom that is vital in transporting oxygen and carbon dioxide in our blood. The iron contained in hemoglobin is also responsible for the red color of blood.
Individuals should not take iron supplements or other treatments for low hemoglobin levels without first discussing such treatments with their physician as side effects from these treatments and/or excess iron intake may cause additional problems. Also, iron supplements should be kept away from children as iron poisoning in young children can be fatal.
MAGNETO-OPTICS. The first relation between magnetismand light was discovered by Faraday,1 who proved that theplane of polarization of a ray of light was rotated when the raytravelled through certain substances parallel to the lines of magneticforce. This power of rotating the plane of polarization in amagnetic field has been shown to be possessed by all refractingsubstances, whether they are in the solid, liquid or gaseous state. The rotation by gases was established independently by H.Becquerel,2 and Kundt and Röntgen,3 while Kundt4 found thatfilms of the magnetic metals, iron, cobalt, nickel, thin enough tobe transparent, produced enormous rotations, these being in ironand cobalt magnetized to saturation at the rate of 200,000 percm. of thickness, and in nickel about 89,000. The directionof rotation is not the same in all bodies. If we call the rotationpositive when it is related to the direction of the magnetic force, like rotation and translation in a right-handed screw, or, what isequivalent, when it is in the direction of the electric currentswhich would produce a magnetic field in the same direction asthat which produces the rotation, then most substances producepositive rotation. Among those that produce negative rotationare ferrous and ferric salts, ferricyanide of potassium, the saltsof lanthanum, cerium and didymium, and chloride of titanium.5
A very remarkable case of the Zeeman effect has been discoveredby H. Becquerel and Deslandres (Comptes rendus, 127,p. 18). They found lines in iron when the most deflected componentsare those polarized in the plane at right angles to themagnetic force. On the simple theory the light polarized inthis way is not affected. Thus the behaviour of the spectrumin the magnetic field promises to throw great light on the natureof radiation, and perhaps on the constitution of the elements. The study of these effects has been greatly facilitated by theinvention by Michelson50 of the echelon spectroscope.

The foreign trade, especially that with the West Indies and withGreat Britain, decreased after 1875, and yet much trade from theWest that goes to Montreal during the warmer months passesthrough Portland during the winter season. The chief exports toforeign countries are textile fabrics, Indian corn, meat, dairyproducts, apples, paraffin, boards and shooks; the chief importsfrom foreign countries are sugar, molasses and wool. Fish, canned goods, potatoes, granite, lime, paper, and boots and shoesare also exported to foreign countries to some extent, but theyare shipped in larger quantities to other states of the Union, fromwhich Maine receives in return cotton, coal, iron, oil, &c. Theports of entry in Maine are Bangor, Bath, Belfast, Castine, Eastport,Ellsworth, Houlton, Kennebunk, Machias, Portland, Wiscasset andYork.
The agriculture of the department is very prosperous. Theproduce of cereals, chiefly wheat, oats and barley, is in excessof its needs, and potatoes and mangels also give good returns.Extensive areas in the valley of the Loire are under hemp, and the vegetables, melons and other fruits of that region areof the finest quality. Good wine is produced at Serrant andother places near Angers, and on the right bank of the Layonand near Saumur, the sparkling white wine of which is a rivalof the cheaper brands of champagne. Cider is also produced, and the cultivation of fruit is general. Forests and woodlandin which oak and beech are the chief trees cover large tracts. The fattening of cattle is an important industry round Cholet, and horses much used for light cavalry are reared. Severalthousand workmen are employed in the slate quarries in thevicinity of Angers, tufa is worked in the river valleys, andfreestone and other stone, mispickel, iron and coal are also found.Cholet, the chief industrial town, and its district manufacturepocket-handkerchiefs, as well as linen cloths, flannels, cottongoods, and hempen and other coarse fabrics, and similar industriesare carried on at Angers, which also manufactures liqueurs, rope, boots and shoes and parasols. Saumur, besides its productionof wine, makes beads and enamels. The commerce ofMaine-et-Loire comprises the exportation of live stock and of thevarious products of its soil and industries, and the importationof hemp, cotton, and other raw materials. The departmentis served by the railways of the state and the Orléans andWestern companies. The Mayenne, the Sarthe and the Loir, together with some of the lesser rivers, provide about 130 m. ofnavigable waterway. In the south-east the canal of the Divecovers some 10 m. in the department.
Malachite is a basic cupric carbonate, represented by theformula CuCO3Cu(HO)2, and has usually been formed by theaction of meteoric agencies on other copper-minerals; henceit is found in the upper part of ore-deposits, often as an incrustation, and occasionally as a pseudomorph after cuprite, chalcocite,&c. When formed, as commonly happens, by the alterationof copper-pyrites the iron of this mineral usually takes the formof limonite, which may remain associated with the malachite.Occasionally, though but rarely, malachite occurs in small dark-greenprismatic crystals of the monoclinic system. Its usualmode of occurrence is in nodular or stalagmitic forms, witha mammillated, reniform or botryoidal surface, whilst in othercases it forms fibrous, compact or even earthy masses. Thenodules, though commonly dull on the outside, may display onfracture a beautiful zonary structure, the successive layers oftensucceeding each other as curved deposits of light and dark tints. The colours include various shades of apple-green, grass-green,emerald-green and verdigris-green. Certain varieties exhibit afinely fibrous structure, producing on the fractured surface asoft silky sheen.
