OAuth 2.0?

Hi guys,

I have recently been investigating a number of APIs for social
applications, such as Foursquare and Gowalla. Most of the APIs have
recently included support for OAuth 2.0 for authentication, and some
even recommend the use of OAuth 2.0 rather than 1.0

I would like to request the inclusion of OAuth 2.0 as an
authentication mechanism for Miso, and if it is already being
investigated, is there an approximate date when this will be
implemented.

My main concern is that I have done a lot of Android development work
using the OAuth 2.0 authentication mechanism for communicating with
other APIs, and don't particularly wish to implement OAuth 1.0 if Miso
has the intention of implementing 2.0 in the relatively close future.

Hey Michael,

Yes there is growing support for OAuth 2.0. And yes we do plan to support this protocol in the future although it could be several months before we release that version. We are more invested for the time being on expanding the resources and endpoints for important things such as followers, notifications, badges, etc.

I will let you know when OAuth 2.0 support is being worked on but it will most likely be after we have stabilized our endpoints to provide all essential functionality.

Thank you Nathan for your replies, I'm glad to hear that your endpoints are being worked on, I'm excited to incorporate some of these into my applications. As for OAuth 2.0, thanks for the information, and good luck with the implementation.
