extension status

Dear All,

Are we going to ask for an extension or not ???? I think , if we are going to ask for an extension , we should ask it now, before its get too late.  Let me know the comments, if not we need to submit it on end of august as I think.

HI Himasha & Batch mates

Called DR last week he said fr us to submit letter saying put that we weren't able to meet the suprv due to strike etc etc , i did a letter (attached) may be we can edit this and give to pavithra.

pavithra said as with last time , she will keep the letter with her, so batch will have to come to FGS and put thier signatures on it. now uni's at strike , never know after they start back they will think of giving extension .If we dont act now itself


Next step is to finalize letter , agree on it and give it to pavithra (as I called an chekrd with DR & her)

Dead line will be  around August 19th.  If we ask  for  an extension we can have one month extension as I heard.

1 month is a reduction we should ask more ,should'nt we because that what the last timers got ?

was;nt able to meet supervisors due to strike , supervisors busy with work & lectures
overseas trips

Btw how many of us are Planing to handover the research within this round of submission?... Ppl who are not planing to deliver it will not be interested on extending or keeping the deadline as it is... 

Since its whole batch's effort I believe we all should stand as a whole batch and do the request as a team either we submit this time or next time.

Please share your thoughts on this...

Hi I think Gayans comment is really important here..i heard that most ppl are not submitting..but i guess everyone should work togther and get this extension.

Sajeewa I called DR and he said to put reasons, becuase he also has to tell this to some board -and it will help him in getting the descion in our favor ..can anyone of you talk to DR to Pavithra and figure this out

I think letter is fine now.. Thanks gayan and evan.. And I talked to pavithra, and still there is no dead line to submit the thesis. We should request the extension after they have fixed the deadlines for the thesis.. But its better tio finalise the letter..

REQUEST TO EXTEND THE DEADLINE OF MISM 2012 THESIS SUBMISSION DATE.

 

The MISM 2012 batch of Faculty of Graduate Studies would like to request an extension for the deadline of the thesis submission date.  According to standard academic timetable the deadline would fall in 19^th August 2012.

 

Due to unavoidable professional commitments  some of the herein signatories had to visit overseas business engagements, as well as some of the herein signed colleagues had difficulties in scheduling and meeting their respective supervisors due to unexpected university strikes, and therefore we are now in a difficult position to submit a rushed thesis.

 

The batch as a whole believes if we can be granted a deadline extension by 2 months; it will give us the substantial enough time required to produce a more complete product in accordance with the expected guidelines and standards set by the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

 

We greatly appreciate if you could consider our request and provide us an extension of 2 months for this academic commitment.

Apparently Dr is now checking if we can get extension with Dean. afterwards Pavithar will send a mail confirming deadline. nothings confirmed yet.

we'll hav 2 wait until everthing finalized at FGS.
