I am traveling to Haiti on Saturday, 27 February, and will be there
until Sunday, 7 March. I am traveling with a team that is tasked to
inspect buildings. Many in Haiti are afraid to go back into buildings
and they are living and sleeping outside. Even the churches are
having to hold services outdoors because the people are scared the
buildings may fall on them. The rainy season is fast approaching and
will create severe problems for the survivors who are afraid to seek
shelter in their homes. Our official task is to inspect the buildings
to ensure their safety and help the people to re-enter buildings that
are deemed safe. Our primary focus will be sharing the hope of Jesus
with any who will listen and connecting them with a local church.
Please pray for our safety and protection from all harm, accident,
injury, illness and disease. Please pray for our families at home
while we are away and please pray for our safe travel there and back
again. The other men who are a part of my team are Scottie Stice, Bob
Sapp, and Doug Penland. I plan to take pictures and keep a journal,
so stay tuned and I will post a report in a couple of weeks.
In the service of the King,
Daniel
