Closing week for nominations!
There exists a vacancy on the GPS Board of Directors, and we are now
accepting nominations for a temporary replacement until May of 2011,
when the seat in question is up for reelection.
The process of identifying candidates is going to be a little
different; we have a Search Team of individuals with broad community
contacts who will be in the lead here, gathering information and
making recommendations to the Board. The members of this group are
not, for the record, available to be considered for the vacancy.
GPS is a growing organization with opportunities to really make a
difference for our community and our future. The job involves several
meetings each month with the Board and our volunteer staff, as well as
various other functions. Budgeting, leading and coordinating a number
of departments while working within the Board to guide the
organization as a whole. Significant divisional and cross-functional
work outside that, depending on the exact roles determined.
With the additions of each new member, the Board will reassess the
workload and experiences of each Board member once we have a new
candidate in place. So don't think of this seat as covering any given
area in the organization; everything is on the table.
How do you get nominated? You let us know by email
(
searc...@geekpartnership.org) that you’re interested.
Can I nominate someone else? Yes, you may, but they will of course
have to agree to be considered.
What is the process? Each candidate will be asked to respond to a
questionnaire, submit a resume, and write a letter explaining why you
want the job, and what you would hope to accomplish if selected.
What if I still have questions? Contact us through (searchteam
@
geekpartnership.org) or talk to any current Director; we’d be glad to
help.
We hope to hear from you soon.
