I am giving you notice of a special event at the Source for the 4th Saturday in November. Whilst not a Misfits event it is one to which your are cordially invited.

Some of you role-players may be familiar with the game world of Tekumel created by Prof. M A R Barker of Minneapolis. This is one of the most interesting worlds created as an RPG setting.

One of my contacts has arranged to have a special gaming day at the Source in celebration of this system. There will be a number of games talking place that day, one is a large wargame with the Tsolyáni fighting the Northern barbarians. The others will be some skirmish or gladatorial games in the same world setting.

All levels of experience and interest are invited.

This promises to be an interesting and exicting day for those who love this fantasy setting.

I will, of couse give you notice nearer the time.

Hello!
I've signed up for the group, so please feel free to e-mail me with
any questions about this event. The 'big table' game will be the
Battle of Anch'ke, originally fought in 2362 AS, and the second game
will be a series of smaller skirmishes set up so that people can drop
in, play for a bit, and then leave as they have to.

I've also been asked about seats in the Tekumel RPG group, and while
the Saturday game session is very full, I would be willing to host a
second group if there's interest.

Thanks!

For the November 28th miniatures event, the store opens at ten a.m.
and I'll be doing the set up at that time; the games themselves will
start at noon. The large multi-player battle will run all day, but the
smaller 'skirmish' game will run in about one-hour segments so that
people can come and go as they please. The store closes at nine p.m.,
so we'll be stopping the games and packing up the cargo van at about
eight p.m.; there will be dinner afterwards, but I don't know where
yet.

For the RPG group, I would prefer the second and fourth Fridays of
each month, with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the game session
itself beginning at 7:30 p.m.; this is very tentative, of course, as
anyone interested in this will have a say in the times. I would not be
starting the RPG group until December, due to the amount of work
involved in putting on the November miniatures event.

The short skirmish games will indeed start at noon, and will run
something like an hour each. The group wanted to offer something that
people could play without them having to make a major investment in
time. You can drop by at any time during the day, and we should have
something happening that you can try.

Sorry to be back to you so slowly; we've been dealing with the flu
here at the house.

The plans for the November Miniatures Event are firming up nicely. One
of the regulars on my blog has come up with a diabolically clever plot
for the skirmish table, based in the less savory portions of the river
front district in the city of Butrus. The games should run very
quickly, with lots of action and intrigue among the factions vying for
control of the docks, and we'll even have lots of Tekumel's non-humans
employed as mercenaries. A little magic, a little mayhem, and what
should be fast and fun games for people to be able to drop in and out
of all day.

The 'big battle' will be a 'historical' one from Prof. Barker's old
Thursday Night Group in the 1980's, with lots of feckless player-
characters trying to rescue the Governor of Hekellu from the clutches
of the local (and rebellious) tribespeople. Lots of troops, lots of
miscommunication, and a good time for all.

More as I get it!

Just an update on the November 28th game event at The Source...

The poster for the event is now up on the Photobucket page, at:

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk72/Chirine_ba_Kal/TekumelBattleNov28Source.jpg

(Sorry; I don't know how to post this as a link.)

Both game tables open for players at noon, with both the large battle
(The Battle of Anch'ke) and the skirmish game (Roit on the Avenue of
Uplifting Trade) open for any and all players. Please feel free to
contact me for more information, and we'll hope to see you there.

And an update on the Tekumel RPG group; if people are interested in a
Tekumel-based RPG, also let me know; we have a second group forming,
and players are welcome!

yours, chirine

Hi all.

Has anyone been playing any board games at the monthly gathering at The
Source? I don't have time to get involved in an RPG right now, but a
few hours of board gaming would be fun. If anyone is interested, I have
Cosmic Encounters which is a really good game IMO.
