If I may, I'd like to give the first three articles a try this weekend
and e-mail you back. I'll proceed with the rest if the results are
what you guys expect.

Daniel

PS. Hi all, I'm new here so any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I'll be using ABBY Fine Reader 10.

Hi Daniel,

Sorry. . . I should have previously posted to the group that I had taken on this project.

I used Acrobat for the OCR after upsampling and clean-up with Photoshop. Worked pretty well. ~98%?

I'm not familiar with Fine Reader. Do you have any experience with how it compares to Acrobat?

Regards,

Paul Woodward

No worries, Paul.

I've never tried Acrobat, but I've used Fine Reader to OCR Rothbard's Libertarian Manifesto (Spanish version) from 200pp scans - and I have to say it did an amazing job at first glance (~99% ?) but it still needs to be proofread.

Btw, I'm unable to view the guidelines page on the Google group for some reason, would anyone be so kind to e-mail me a copy?

Is there a list of pending documents to be converted or who is taking up what task?

Looking forward to help.

Daniel
