Temperatures are selectable from -20C to 99C in steps of 0.1C. The nominal regulation accuracy is better than 0.2C with uniformity of temperature distribution better than 1.0C at 4C across the cooling surface.

Many robotic applications require precise dimensional spacing of pipet tips and robotic grippers relative to a microplate. The Edge Locking Mechanism (ELM) is the complete answer for repeatable and accurate positioning of microplates on an automated deck. It consists of 2x2 stainless steel pins and a 2-point electromechanical mechanism to lock down microplates in the module's centre safely.

For the gripping of microplates, the ELM opens the clamping automatically. And when "locked" into place, the microplate varies by as little as +/- 0.1 mm, making demanding manipulations a breeze.

All BioShake devices have advanced internal algorithms and sensors for monitoring operating parameters and error detection. Any errors are sent out via the RS232 communication interface. Those are easier to detect and localize.

All BioShake automation devices are equipped with one integrated LED indication light in front to improve the functional testing during installation and visualize the operating status. The indication light allows a quick function test and error control. The green or red status lights up or is disabled. In case of failure, the error list should be read out via the RS232 command to help detect the error more precisely.

The first entrepreneur into the Shark Tank this week was presenting his product The Kooler and he was seeking $50k in exchange for 15% of the business. He has developed a cooler that carries a gallon of ice water and conveniently contains two shaker cups. He initially developed it for use at the gym to be able to easily chill pre- and post-workout shakes.

As for his numbers, he has done $120k in sales in 16 months with half the sales being online and the rest being in various retail locations. They cost $7 dollars to make and retail for $32.95. Even with such solid margins, he is just breaking even right now with all the travel he has had to do to market the product.

When the Sharks started to weigh in with their thoughts, one obvious concern started to pop up amongst all of them. Is this product too niche? Can it appeal to a wider audience than just fitness? He responded by saying that he has seen large amounts of average people buying it at the shows he has gone to. He gave a quick example of the soccer mom who wants to bring drinks for her kids to practices and games.

Despite this, he does seem to have a solid plan in place to combat that serious issue. He is looking to get on QVC or go through the process of developing an infomercial so that he can reach out to thousands of people at once explaining how practical the product is.

At the end of the day, most of the Shark did not see that though. Kevin, Mark, and Lori were not convinced that it could go wide enough and that it took too much explanation to sell. Robert actually saw it in somewhat the opposite way and told him that he should be going all in on the niche that this product obviously applies to. Then there was Daymond, who ended up offering him $50k for 33.3% of the business and the entrepreneur quickly accepted the deal!

I genuinely believe that this could be a wildly successful product if it is marketed correctly. Sure it needs some explanation, but that can definitely be solved by an infomercial and a few targeted social media campaigns that display its uses! This guy was impressive in his ability to present the product and if they get him in front of another camera to sell directly to the consumer, the only problem he will be having is keeping them in stock!
