How do you feel about feeling you're way better off than everyone else?

To me, such a position is a flag indicating sadness. Why compare your
life to anyone else's?

Or, are you saying, "my life is a complete mess, i'm penniless, and I
like it this way?"

fortunate.

extremely lucky, in a way.

but really, it mostly isn't a matter of luck.

can be, i suppose.

and there certainly is much sadness in my life.

unfortunately.

methinks that's a question you'd be far better off asking yourself.

just a hunch.

If I catch myself comparing my life to anyone else's I know I've headed
down a treacherous path. I used to do it a lot and it was useless and
miserable. That's why I asked why you're doing it, the comparing.

Why are you comparing your life to other people's lives?

Madison Avenue banks on it.

> I used to do it a lot and it was useless and miserable.

no doubt.

but doing so doesn't have that effect on me, at all.

> That's why I asked why you're doing it, the comparing.

oh, i fully understood why you thought you were doing so.

but that wasn't my point in suggesting that you should ask yourself
that question.

I believe you think you are better off than anyone else. Or, at the
very least, since I don't know you well, I definitely believe you need
to feel better off than anyone else.

What I don't believe is that you are comparing your life to other
people's lives because it's funny to you.

I also know from experience that a person can believe one thing (better
off than anyone else) and another (wishing their life was different) at
the very same time even if they contradict each other (not that these
do).

For some reason, I always spell that "oopse." No idea why.

I also spell yoghurt the way I just did. I guess that might be right in
some places...?

why you think that they could contradict eachother is hilarious.
