While most professions only have one patron saint in the Catholic
Church, writers have four: Sts. Lucy, Frances de Sales, John the
Apostle, and Paul the Apostle (but not the apostles George and Ringo).
Advertising and public relations writers are protected by St.
Bernadine of Siena.
Television writers can get guidance and support from St. Clare of
Assisi.
Religious writers, from St. Peter Canisius.
Editors on deadline can appeal to St. John Bosco for help and comfort.
Publishers are protected by Sts. James Duckett and Thomas Aquinas.
Poets can depend on Sts. Cecilia and David. Spanish poets specifically
are represented by John of the Cross.
Printers may appeal to St. Augustine of Hippo for any of their
problems, but if there's a specific problem with your printing press
(or ink-jet printer, for that matter) try St. Brigid of Ireland.
So what superstitions do you have, or rituals and prayers do you
perform as a writer in the hopes a little of the "unseen" will help
your career?

I pray to the saint of ups and downs. St. Francis of a See-Saw.

Erin, both your and Jack's posts are showing up twice. Obviously a problem
with earthlink's news server. You may want to contact them about it.
