no studio audience.
no "studio".
no Vanna Whites, etc.
entire game happens during otherwise mundane cab rides of variable
lengths.
contestants chosen at random from everyday people commuting to and fro
who are seeking cab rides, so they have no prior expectation that they
will be competing for cash prizes using their wits and knowledge until
a few moments after entering cab.
no set amount of players in each game -- it all depends on how many
people as a group chose to flag down the cab in the first place. (from
one to five or so).
no huge prizes.
hilarious MC asks general knowledge questions while he drives the
passengers/contestants to their previously chosen destination which
they selected before ralizing they would soon be participating on a
televised quiz show,
MC looks back occasionally making jokes about the passengers and/or
their answers or their various consternations during game-play.
game occurs on the road in the middle of traffic at all times of the
day and night.
questions come fast and furious and get increasingly harder in three
different levels of difficulty.
contestants get to freely discuss the possible answers amongst
themselves before committing to an answer.
the farther their cab ride (or the more traffic problems there are)
the more money they can potentially win because the time for asking
questions is longer.
if they get three questions wrong before they reach their chosen
destination, the taxi ride immediately ends and they get booted from
the cab back into the street. rain or shine. snow or sleet.
if they get stuck on a question, they have the option to pull over and
ask for help from random pedestrians on the street (who do not partake
in any possible cash prizes)... OR they can call someone they know and
ask them for help -- only one "shout-out" per game.
at the end of the ride, the cabbie offers them their accumulated
winnings in cold hard cash (ranging anywhere from $25 to about $1500,
depending on how many questions they answered correctly)... OR
contestants can risk it all and go for double or nothing by answering
a single question about a video clip played on the cab driver's
dashboard -- they discuss this option amongst themselves and usually
decline the chance to double up.
taxi ride is always free.
riders split any and all prize money evenly no matter how useful they
were in answering the questions. -- assuming that the contestant who
is handed the cash as they exit the cab abides by the spirit of that
"rule".

that'd be the one.
best quiz show in the history of television.
the American version, anyway.
i haven't seen the others.
the creators probably got the idea from that HBO series years back
called Taxi-cab Confessions (or some such) which was always a hoot.
