James Bond may be getting The Dark Knight treatment, as
the trilogys director, Chris Nolan, has reportedly been
approached to direct the next 007 movie.
Reports are in that Christopher Nolan has been approached
to direct the next Bond film. Its definitely in the
early stages, but Nolan has been in informal talks with
the representatives of James Bond pictures, Barbara
Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. After Sam Mendes,
director of Skyfall, decided not to return to shoot Bond
24, the studio started going down their short list of
directors to continue the franchise.
Nolan is definitely an interesting directing choice, as
hes familiar with massive franchises, but hes also an
excellent filmmaker. While hes known mostly for his Dark
Knight trilogy, his films such as Memento, The Prestige,
and more recently, Inception, were incredibly well
received by critics and audiences.
Chris Nolan is currently in pre-production with his
latest film, Interstellar, which stars Anne Hathaway,
Jessica Chastain, and Matthew McConaughey. Christopher
Nolan also recently wrapped as the executive producer of
the latest Superman reboot, Man of Steel, which hits
theaters June 14.
Skyfall fans may be curious as to why director Sam Mendes
decided against directing the next Bond film, and while
he was interested, he had to decline due to his prior
commitments to the National Theatre. Skyfall was a
massive financial and critical success, holding the #7
spot for the highest grossing films of all time with $1.1
billion worldwide.
