Hi all,
I am a senior in college, and I can't get started on my first screenplay. I
know I have a really good one inside of me, but my problem is this.

1) I often listen to music, and the type of song will subtly influence what
I want to write (sometimes even a part of a song title will influence a
script title). i.e. a happy piece, a dark piece, a comical piece.
2) I am in a college that I really don't like, and haven't for some time.
With all the work I have, I have nothing to inspire me. I also hate most of
the days I am here in school.

I want to go into film next year, but I really want to be able to get into a
writing mode so that I can go on from there. Any tips?

I'm going crazy here. I REALLY want to do this!!! I'm tired of watching
Hollywood go to hell. Indie movies are the best, so I'm thinking along the
lines of a small film.

I am also looking for some good starting points (like PA'ing) or something
to break into after I graduate in May '97.

Any help is most appreciated.

Thanks,
Ben

I say this proddingly -- not bitterly. QUIT COMPLAINING AND WRITE!

Just write. If you can't write, then fix cars or go into governmental
accounting.

Writing takes discipline. Do you not like school because you do not like
discipline? Your question.

You've got to either just do it, or go to grad school.

Hope this encourages you.

Vomit Draft, Junk Writing Tango, etc. There's lots of names
for what you have to do: Write FAST and don't look back.
Imagine this: You will be paid $500 for a 100 page screenplay
delivered this coming Monday morning, no questions asked.
Start now.

Well, now...when would you like the audit scheduled?

So does reviewing receipts for claimed expenses and
exemptions...

...and then writing the audit report.

[You can quit sweating now. It was a joke.]
