Is anyone planning on attending the Austin conference in late October?
How about this on in LA?

I have yet to meet anyone who spent their 300 bucks to go to one of these
things and either learned something they didn't already know, or made a
contact that actually panned out and helped their career.

But then what do I know.

However, I already live in Austin, so maybe I'll just try and sneak in...
yeah, that's the ticket...

Are you talking about *all* such seminars -- McKee, Truby & so on -- or
this one in particular?

I was speaking of this particular one in Hell-ay. Just curious.

Yeah, I'm in Austin too. I moved from Houston about a year ago. I
just couldn't stand the smog and the Republicans anymore!

Have you met the guy who runs the Keep Austin Weird campaign? What a
character.

I haven't, but I wouldn't mind shaking his hand. Of course, some
people are unhappy with Austin's weirdness (or perhaps they're just
trying to make a buck) and they've started a "Make Austin Normal"
campaign, complete with lots of shitty stuff to buy on Cafe Press.
